Consular Information
U.S. citizens in Kosovo are encouraged to register with the U.S. Embassy Pristina Consular Section, for possible emergency notification. The Embassy will respond to the most serious U.S. citizen emergencies including arrests and life-threatening emergencies. Such emergencies can be reported 24 hours a day.
For Americans living, working, or traveling to Kosovo consular services are available by appointment only. You may send a written inquiry anytime via e-mail to consularpristina@state.gov or fax (038) 548-614, and we will make every attempt to reply within one business day. Telephone inquiries to (038) 5959-3119, can be made weekdays, from 8:00 until 17:00.
For travel involving emergency replacement of a lost or stolen U.S. passport, the U.S. Embassy Pristina may facilitate travel by the applicant to the U.S. Embassy Skopje, Macedonia. Non-emergency applications such as replacement of an expiring passport, lost/stolen passport, adding pages or amending current passports, submitting documentation to register the birth of an American child overseas, and consulting with consular personnel on a variety of matters are available in Pristina.
Other consular services, such as notarial services, are available only at the U.S. Embassy Skopje. The Consular Section at the U.S. Embassy Skopje provides these non-emergency services to U.S. citizens from 2:00 to 4:00PM, Monday to Thursday (summer working hours).
