2008 press release

August 4, 2008 - The United States congratulates the Kosovo government on the issuance of the first Kosovo passport on July 29. 

The United States has officially recognized the Kosovo passport as a legitimate travel document and as of August 1 has approved the placement of visas in this document for travel by Kosovo passport holders to the United States. 

The UNMIK travel document is still valid for travel until expiration
