Export Control and Related Border Security Program (EXBS) Makes Donation to Kosovo Border Police
January 20, 2010
The Export Control and Related Border Security Program (EXBS) recently donated urgently needed equipment valued at $58,000 to the Kosovo Border Police. On December 20, 2009, Christopher Milam, head of the EXBS office at U.S. Embassy Pristina, met with Lt. Colonel Mentor Shabani, Director for Border Police Administration, to hand over the equipment, which included Night Optics Binoculars, Ballistic Police Vests, and Handheld Thermal Imagers. The EXBS program coordinates U.S. Government nonproliferation policy goals to combat proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction, associated delivery systems, conventional weapons, and related goods and technologies. The donation was made in conjunction with one of Ambassador Dell's major objectives for Kosovo—to strengthen the rule of law.
